Versatile Blogger Award: Thank You Bill!

Things have been a bit hectic around here. I bet we can all say that about our personal and business lives! It seems to be the season. The kids are back in school, it’s the last quarter for our business and the holidays are just around the corner. Yikes! In the midst of all of this, I was quite excited to have received The Versatile Blogger Award from my blogging friend Bill Dorman!

blogger award
Yay for awards!

Bill started out not so long ago as “The Invisible Blogger.” That is definitely not the case anymore! Bill blogs mostly about social media and blogging. However, if you visit his site on any given day you may find posts about sports, inspiration, friendship or just life in general. What I love about Bill is that he is a great connector. He really reaches out and shows people that he cares. So, thanks Bill!

Okay, let’s get back to the award. I now get the opportunity to pass this award on to others. Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who gave the award and link back to them in your post.
  2. Share 7 things about yourself.
  3. Pass this award along to up to 15 recently discovered blogs.

Here are 7 things about me (I tried to pick stuff you didn’t already know):

  1. I am left-handed (Yes, that makes me super cool).
  2. I despise writing with blue pens and will only write with black ones.
  3. I love, love, love to travel.
  4. I couldn’t possibly survive without comedy.
  5. I love to sing and I’ve been told I have a good voice but I’m terrified of singing in public so no one will ever know.
  6. I’m excellent at music trivia–a talent that will get me no where in life.
  7. I love riding on my husband’s Harley with him–it’s so freeing.

Here’s my list of bloggers in alphabetical order who are receiving this award:

Barbara from Let Life Happen She inspires me every day by sharing her life experiences.

Brankica from Blog Like A Star If you want the best tips on blogging, check her out.

Carol from Carol Connects People. A wonderful mentor, coach and friend.

Craig McBreen from CraigMcBreen.com He’s new on my radar but I love his style.

Jess from Diary of a Mom A beautiful writer never afraid to bear her soul.

Kaarina from decide2do She writes thought-provoking business inspiration posts.

Ken from Inkling Media He breaks down social media so that we all “get” it.

Paula from Perspicacity My fellow proofreader-in-crime.

Susan from Confident Mom Great tips on parenting skills.

  1. Wow:) Thanks so much Alicia:I’m honoured! Although I know many on the list, you’ve now introduced me to others that I’m excited to check out.

Ditto on #2: I always write with black ink pens! And re: #5…I think we need a youtube video on that, my friend.

Thanks again: I so appreciate your support and friendship. Cheers! Kaarina

  2. Thanks so much Alicia, I am really honored.

I despise black pens, lol, and love blue ones because they are the “normal” kind in our schools.

I loved riding my bikes until I crashed them all one by one. and looooove to travel, I even lived on 3 continents by now.

Wow, now I have to do this… tough one

    1. Hey Pit;)

Did you learn your lesson from crashing all those bikes?
Yeah, it will also be a tough one for you because you just listed some little-known facts about yourself in your birthday post.
I guarantee you’ll come up with a great post from this:)

  3. Lefty, huh? I figured as much…….:)

Thanks so much for your kind words; maybe when I grow up I’ll know what kind of blog I have.

Music trivia is good for free drinks and if you have enough of those, then you can karaoke and let everyone hear your voice.

I could not survive w/out comedy as well.

I do know about half of your mentions, and of those some I know quite well. A very worthy list indeed.

I hope you had some fun with this and good to see a new post from you.

    1. Hey Bill, left-handed people are the only ones in their right minds! I’m sure you’ve heard that one before. Yup, I’m thinking drunken karaoke would be one way to get me to sing. You first!

  4. Alicia,

Thank you so much. I am honored to be on this list.

    1. Not a lefty, but one day I aspire to be like Leonardo, be ambidextrous, and write notes backwards with my left hand.

    2. I steer clear of blue pens too. Not sure why.

    3. I WANT to travel more.

    4. I’m addicted to quite a few comedy podcasts.

    5. I sometimes sing when I’m wearing headphones and people give me THAT look. Yes, I’m that guy.

    6. Me too. Another no-paying skill.

    7. Man, your husband has a Harley. My wife has a Honda minivan and every once in a while I get to drive it. How lucky am I? 🙂

Proud to say I now know more than a few on your list. Will have to check out the others you mentioned.

Nice to stop by again. Thanks!

    1. Hey Craig!

The reason I despise blue pens is because of Catholic school. They insisted that we use those blue erasable pens only. Due to the fact that I’m left handed my writing would smear and I would have blue ink all over the side of my hand constantly. Never again!

Hey, I’ve seen some sweet minivan commercials recently. The van is making a comeback;)

  5. ……typing very carefully so as not to make errors since I have been publicly proclaimed a proofreader… 🙂

Thank you so much! My first blogger award! And I am clearly in great company. I really appreciate this, Alicia!!!

    1. So, I must have some crazy setting on my comments section right now. All of your pictures are showing up twice. That’s okay–I really like looking at all of you lovely people;) I will be back tomorrow to comment to you all!

  6. Alicia, I can’t tell you how very honored I feel. It is a great thing to receive the award but more than that, to receive it from you makes it that much more special. Thank you so much for all that you are and all that you do. And by the way, Catholic school, left-handed, closet singer, used to ride trail bikes myself and humor are all a part of me, too.

  7. Hey Alicia,

Thanks for thinking of me. I’ll be sure to pass this along. 🙂 I’ve drafted a post with some deserving bloggers (hard choice!) … This is a great idea for touching base and sharing great writers. Kudos to the one who came up with the idea.

  8. Hi Alicia, how did I ever miss this post. THANK YOU for including me – you are doing awesome working from home, just as I knew you would when you started. It’s really an honor to receive this award from you.

    Ok, here goes – 7 things about me . . .

    1. I’m NOT left-handed (sorry, could not resist)
    2. My dream retirement is in Myrtle Beach, SC but as long as my kids and grandkids won’t move, I won’t either. But it’s a nice dream.
    3. I started networking when it wasn’t such a cool thing to do – I used to call is shoeleather marketing!
    4. In my teenage years, I raced by ’66 Chevelle at the dragstrip and WON several tropies. I raced at Maple Grove Speedway.
    5. I love to travel – Alicia’s parents are our best friends and we take frequent “road trips” on weekends when we can.
    6. You all know this, if you know me, but I LOVE being a Grandma – I encouraged my kids to have grandkids even if they never got married! LOL! Grandma is the best title for me.
    7. My husband is a Letter Carrier for the past 37 years and will retire in the next 4 years. I can’t imagine ever being in a job that long!

There, I think I covered it all. It’s fun to read these about other people. I hope to get to know all of you! Happy Networking.
